  That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population.   Our goal is to 
 strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and lite
 racy\, reduce gender disparity in education\, and increase adult literacy.

  calendar year is celebrated in Rotary with a different theme. Each club t
 hroughout the Rotary world is encouraged to concentrate on programs to pro
 mote each of these months. Rotary focuses on Community Service and promote
 s International Peace and Understanding. By celebrating each month and usi
 ng these themes as a guide\, Rotarians can ensure that all of the various 
 programs of Rotary are administered throughout the entire year
